Second 2024 mixed martial arts program takes place at Visalia Convention Center, numerous fighters with Fresno and Tulare counties ties will be in action

VISALIA – The second 559 Fights mixed martial arts card of 2024 will take place at the Visalia Convention Center on Friday, March 1, and the lineup will feature a pair of championship matches.

In addition to the two title bouts, eight matches from 559 Fights 104 will be televised live on local network MyTv53 (Channel 53) starting at 7:30 p.m. At least 17 fighters from Fresno or Tulare counties will be in action.

“We have 15 fights scheduled, featuring some of the best talent from the Central Valley and beyond,” 559 Fights president Jeremy Luchau said. “Two promotional and (California Amateur Mixed Martial Arts) state title fights headline the night.”

The main event will have the 559 Fights light heavyweight Championship and CAMO State Light Heavyweight Championship on the line, as reigning champion Fresno’s Isaac Johnson (3-0) looks to capture his fourth victory as he faces off against Stockton’s Ryan Firinaiu (6-1).

“Johnson proved himself in the last outing and has come on as a big-time talent in a short amount of time,” Luchau said. “But he will be tested against one of Northern California’s top athletes in Firinaiu.”

In the co-main event, 559 Fights welterweight Champion and Madera’s own Roman Guillen (4-2) takes on Huntington Beach’s Jackson Hemauer (3-0) for the 559 Fights 170-pound title and CAMO State Championship.

“Roman has shown a lot of heart and grit on his way to regaining the 559 Fights title,” Luchau said. “The reward is a tough one, facing off against Hemauer for the State Title. Once you get to this level, there are no easy fights and this one should be fireworks.”

In the feature fight of the night, former 559 Fights light heavyweight champ from Madera Kyle Mask (4-1) looks to climb back to the title picture taking on Tracy’s Ignacio Ureno (2-1).

Highlighting other televised bouts, Kingsburg’s Jalene Delsid goes after her second straight women’s strawweight victory against an opponent to be determined. Visalia’s Matthew Martinez (2-2) takes on Fresno’s Jose Riojas (1-2) in a bantamweight bout.

Preliminary fights on the card involving regional fighters have Porterville’s Joey Sandoval (1-0) facing Fresno’s Gabriel Rocha (1-3) while Fresno fighters Jaime Rodriguez and Vincent Stanton square off in their respective debuts in the lightweight class; Tulare’s JJ Madrid (3-6) meets Porterville’s Michael Brown (1-3) at bantamweight; and Porterville’s Brandon Pullido (0-3) takes on Madera’s Richard Sandoval (1-2)

Doors open at 6 p.m. followed by early bouts, and television coverage for feature bouts begins at 7:30 p.m. For more information on the card, visit online at
