Jonathan Hammond arrested for stealing scatch off lottery tickets from store on Sept. 7

VISALIA – The Visalia Police Department was able to scratch another criminal off their list after arresting a man who made off with lottery tickets earlier this month. The crime happened 2 a.m. on Sept. 7 when a suspect removed the front window at Prince’s Superette, 450 W. Caldwell Ave., and stole multiple rolls of scratch off lottery tickets from the dispensing case inside the convenience store worth an estimated $7,000.

Detectives from Visalia’s Property Crimes Unit worked with the Tulare Police Department reporting similar burglaries in their city. After identifying Jonathan Hammond, 26, of Visalia as the suspect, Hammond was arrested by officers on Sept. 12. He was later booked in the Main Jail for commercial burglary.
