Police are unsure what caused driver to be involved in a series of collisions as investigation continues
VISALIA – Police are unsure what caused a man to crash into bushes in a parking lot and later collide with on oak tree.
According to police, 62-year-old Anthony Marquez was driving a 2012 white Nissan pick-up in the area of Akers and Cypress where he hit another car and fled the scene. No one was injured in the collision.
Shortly after driving away, the pickup collided with bushes in a parking lot while traveling northbound on Atwood from Cypress.
After pulling through the bushes, the car continued eastbound on Noble before it crashed into an oak tree.
Marquez was transported to the hospital with major injuries from the impact. Officers with the Visalia Police Department’s Traffic Unit took over the investigation. At this time, it is unknown if alcohol or speed played a part in the collisions. The cause of the collisions are still under investigation.
