At 3:20 p.m. in the 3500 block of W. Monte Vista, officers with the Visalia Police Department’s (VPD) anti-gang unit conducted a probation search at a residence. During the search, the officers located over a pound of methamphetamine and 5.5 grams of heroin. The probationer, 34-year-old Arthur Madrid, was arrested for narcotic sales and an active probation violation warrant. He was booked at the Tulare County Jail.

Friday, Jan. 18

At 11:45 p.m. in the 700 block of S. Demaree, officers responded to a possible shooting. Upon arrival, officers learned that a verbal argument had occurred between two groups of individuals. Following the argument, an unknown suspect produced a firearm and fired three rounds into the air. The suspect then fled the scene. No injuries or property damage were reported. The case is being forwarded to the Violent Crimes Unit for follow up investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Anonymous Tip Line at 559-713-4738.
