Drive-by shooting leaves one injured, suspects outstanding

Visalia police search for suspects involved in a drive-by shooting last Friday in the 800 block of west Murray

VISALIA – Drive-by shootings have become all the rage over the last two weeks. Recently there were four throughout the county, and another happened in Visalia last Friday. 

According to the Visalia Police Department, officers responded to a shooting in the 800 block of west Murray at 6:47 p.m. Officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The investigation revealed the victim was shot from a moving vehicle driving through the alley. The suspects are currently outstanding.

Thursday, Dec. 19

At approximately 7:39 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Houston and McAuliff regarding a fight. A 14-year-old juvenile male was approached by a 16-year-old juvenile female suspect who took his backpack. When the victim confronted her about it, Juan Andrade, 19, got into a physical altercation with the victim. Both suspects fled the area, and a witness followed the suspects to the 3500 block of E. Race Avenue where they were taken into custody. The victim received no visible injuries. Andrade was transported and booked at the Tulare County Pretrial Facility for charges of robbery, conspiracy, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The female suspect was transported and booked at the Tulare County Juvenile Detention Facility for charges of robbery, and conspiracy.

Wednesday, Dec. 18

At approximately 3:01 a.m. officers from the Visalia Police Department responded to a burglar alarm at Su Casa Valley Insurance located at 1132 N. Ben Maddox Way. Further investigation revealed that an unknown suspect entered the business and removed an undetermined amount of property. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
