VISALIA – When Tulare County emerges from the COVID-19 cloud, the business community will need strong leaders to rebuild the economy. That’s why the Visalia Chamber has rescheduled its leadership conference for the end of summer, rather than waiting for another year to pass. Last month, the chamber announced its second Impact Leadership Conference has been rescheduled for Aug. 25 at the Visalia Convention Center.
“We find ourselves in an unusual situation,” Visalia Chamber President and CEO Gail Zurek said. “Given the recent public health events and recommendations by public officials at the federal, state and local levels, we must postpone IMPACT Leadership Conference. While this was not an easy decision, it was made because we care about the health and vitality of Visalia.”
The first conference was held last year in response to requests from community members, business leaders and Leadership Visalia to participate in quality leadership and workforce training for business owners and employees in the Central Valley. Cultivating business and community leaders by providing quality continuing education, Impact Leadership Conference provides opportunities for learning that focus on workplace skills, personal growth, and community activism.
The Impact Leadership Conference will feature morning and afternoon nationally recognized keynote speakers as well as breakout sessions presented by local industry experts and community leaders. The morning’s keynote speaker will be Rebecca Heiss, CEO and founder of Biologic Balance. After earning her PhD with research designated as “transformative” by the National Science Foundation, Heiss went on to hold multiple appointments in academia, applying her research to solve practical problems in overcoming what she refers to as “biological ghosts” – subconscious behaviors that haunt modern life. She founded a stress hormone consultation company, Biologic Balance, and is currently launching a new self-awareness, 360-review app, called Icueity, to help every individual reach her/his full potential. She has been honored to speak internationally on her work, including multiple TEDx talks, and has found her calling in helping others recognize the power of biological applications in their lives. Rebecca lives in South Carolina with her spoiled rotten dog named Bird, and tries every day to liver her life motto: “spread happy.”
The afternoon keynote address will be delivered by James Lloyd, president of 9 Screens International. Lloyd is an inspirational speaker who has captivated audiences around the world. His unique storytelling ability pulls in the audience with humor, insight and motivation. His most requested topics specialize in customer service, leadership and organizational issues. James presents to a vast array of industries across the United States and abroad. His message is universal across industries and has the ability to envision, create and implement finely-honed motivational presentations designed to education and challenge conference event attendees in a relaxed and interactive environment.
James has published two books, I’m on Fire, Watch me Burn!, and Torch Tips for a Luminous Life and has developed and delivered three Continuing Education (CE) courses utilized by health insurance agents to fulfill State of California continuing licensure requirements.
