“The Little Princess” (1939) at CACHE

July 1 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

The Center for Art, Culture, and History, Exeter, or CACHE, will be hosting a brand-new family-friendly summer classic cinema series every first Monday at 6 p.m. beginning June 3rd with the 1937 film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The rest of the summer season lineup includes The Little Princess (1939) on July 1st, starring Shirley Temple, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939) on August 6th, starring Charles Laughton and Maureen O’Hara.

The Little Princess is a classic family drama about a young girl whose officer father is reported killed in the Boer War. Because her father’s estate is then confiscated, she becomes an ill-treated servant at the boarding school where she was previously a student. Despite all this, she fosters the hope that her father is alive and will someday come back to her. Based on the novel by Francis Hodgson Burnett. The film stars Shirley Temple, Richard Greene, and César Romero.

Vintage dress is encouraged but not required to attend. The screenings will be shown in our upstairs facility, and film discussions will follow, hosted by Aida and Lee Bartoletti of Exeter. Bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Please arrive before 6 p.m. to peruse CACHE, socialize, and select your seating. Doors will close at 6 p.m.

This event is free and open to the public (donations are accepted), and it is recommended for ages 13 and older. For more information, visit their website.
